Detail: The two characters share bucket list and try to finish them togethter
Title: The Road We Walk On
I never have a feeling like this. His eyes that make me remember of the ocean; his smiles that always make my days brighter; his kind heart and love to a children; and of course his bigger dream to going out from this little town to make the world better. I don’t know when I feel like this—to my childhood friend—and to have a feeling like this to a taken man. Argh, I hate myself for that.
Oh, how rude I am to not introduce myself to you. Hey reader, my name is Hikari. Now, I am twenty-two years old and I born and grow in this small town called Fujisoka Town. My family consist of father, mother, and an older brother who two years older than me. I lived in this little apartment and really happy. I have a dream to become an author and write my journey of life in that book. I want to share an experience to all of the people in the world. The problem is, I don’t have the confidence to become a good one. So, for now, I only write the story in my journal and keep this.
Oh, back to the one big problem that I feel right now. I have the crush—a big one—to my childhood friend and neighbor. Cheesy and cliché right? Oh, but how can’t I feel like that to him. His childish attitude and bright personality always make me believe that I can become everything I want and achieve my dream. The problem is, he is starting going out with one of our classmate friend. And, as always, I only smile to him and promise to cheer him in his first relationship. Stupid Hikari.
I can’t do any—
“Hikari,” a manly sound called my name and made my heart pounding hard. I can hear my brother open the door and welcome him inside. Then, after a moment, there is a knocking in my bedroom door.
“Hikari. Takeru outside.”
I can hear a smirk in his tone of voice and just sigh. He know about my crush to him and like to tease me about that.
“Yeah big brother. I will come out in a minute.”
“Going to the date?”
“BIG BROTHER!” I yelled to him after I open my door.
To my annoyed, he only laugh and going inside his room, probably to chat with his girlfriend about something.
I sigh and shake my head. I going to living room and greet Takeru who reply with his smile. “Ready, Hikari?”
“Always.” I smiled back to him and we are going out to the park.
We are walking side by side and chatting along the road. Sometimes, I lost in my mind and Takeru just smile at me—like he knows what I was thinking—who make me blush and duck my head.
“So, what is the list that we are going to crossed today?” Takeru asked with excitement.
“Hmm, wait a minute.” I said as I taking out our book. Did I tell you that we make the bucket list together when we were child and is already our routine to achieve that lists together.
“Hikari…Hikari…Hikari.”
I realized that once again I lost myself in my thought. “Oh, sorry Takeru.”
Takeru gives his charming smile. “Don’t apologize. I know the habit of yours.”
I can feel the heat in my cheek and turned away while mumbled. “Stupid.”
